Mouse lag

I have and use a Microsoft Arc Wireless mouse on my notebook and have serious lag in windows 7 Home Premium, but only when i am copying files or doing backups to my windows home server over the wireless network.
I have all the latest drivers and the batteries are new and it does not happen in any other situation on my machine.

This has been happening since before SP1, which i have now got installed and my notebook is up to date with all the latest drivers as well.

I have search these forums as well as google for a solution but cant find anything that helps.

Anyone got any advice as to what the problem could be.

Have you tried tweaking the mouse settings in control panel?

Yes it does not make any difference at all

Could the snap-in transceiver have been damaged in some way (perhaps by accidentally folding the mouse?)

it does not make any difference which usb port the dongle is plugged in to

no as it never gets folded up inside the mouse, i think i might just get my wired mouse back out of storage and just use that.
