Mouse Pointer

Hello, I have Win7 for about a year now and I really didn't have any problems up until a few months ago. My mouse pointer would start refreshing/flickering every 5 minutes or so and it would slow down anything I was watching or playing at the time. It doesn't really bother me when I watch movies because I can just shake the mouse and it would stop but when I play games I can't do anything about it and so I can't really play any games. I asked my repair man, he also has Win7 but he didn't know how to fix it. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Maybe new mouse
Maybe the mouse driver in device manager. Go to device manger and take a look.
Update driver and look for yellow warning markers.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just tried what you said and it said everything is fine.

Make a full anti virus scan and downloand and make a full malwarebytes scan

If that is negative we work on mouse settings next.

The anitvirus and malverbytes anti-malware didn't find anything.

type pointer in the start/ search box, then in the mouse properties window that opens click hardware tab this will show if the device is working properly or not

Says theres no problem with the mouse, that its working fine.

This may be a long shot. For a test, go into Services and disable the Windows Driver Foundation. That has once cured a similar problem for me.

I found it and clicked on properties and disabled something called Startup type.

Exactly, how old is this mouse and what make and type is it. Ball type, optical, laser, usb or wireless ? Best to even borrow a mouse from someone and see if it's just in the mouse.

In my first post, I suggested that you test the mouse. That should be the first step.

Well lets go down another route. As you haven't completed your system specs i am unable to see the age of your PC! Does your mouse plug into a PS/2 connector or USB. If the ormer try putting a USB mouse on. If he latter have you swopped USB connectors. I'm thinking, the problem does not appear to be software, virus, or mouse so that just leaves where the mouse connects to the PC. Full specs would help!

I have a Logitech Value Optical mouse(USB). On the box it says its deisgned for Windows XP. Could that be the problem?
