Hi I was hoping someone here could maybe give me some insight to a problem that has just occured. Earlier today I was using my laptop and there wasn't any problems at all, but I have returned to the laptop now and find that the cursor is not responding to anything I do on the mousepad.

I also noticed that the symbol for internet connection is showing as if it has never been connected, with a red cross through it. I restarted the laptop in safe mode to see if this helped, and the cursor responded to my actions using the mousepad, however when I restarted the computer, this time in its normal state, the same problem reoccured.

Really hoping someone can give me some insight to the problem and a possible solution, first time this has happened :(

On my Dell laptop, there is a key-combo that turns the mouse pad on and off.
(Fn + F5)

I can also turn the wireless radio on and off via a switch on the side of the laptop. Some laptops use keys for that, others use software and some have no easy way to turn off the wireless radio.
