How to Move an Open Window with the Keyboard​

   Information

This tutorial will show you how to move a Window/Program using your keyboard. It is especially useful when you cannot access the top of the window which allows you to drag it to a new location.

Method #1
NOTE: Method #1 won't work with a maximized Window.

• Alt-Tab or Click On the Window
• Press "Alt & Space"
• Press "M"
• Use your arrow keys to move the Window
• Press Enter to exit

Method #2
NOTE: Method #2 will move your Window to the right or left half of the screen in the same manner as dragging a window to the right or left of the screen will.

• Press the Windows Key & Right Arrow or Left Arrow

Method #3
NOTE: Method #3 will move your Window one display to the right or left.

Thank you for this helpful information. Sometimes my W7 Pro 64bit will blank out and rearrange the items in my task bar and move windows off the screen in my dual monitor setup and I was closing the windows because I didn't have these instructions.

On my old netbook with 1024x600 screen resolution, the new Intel Driver Update Utility window cannot be moved up because as soon as I hit the Enter key the window jumps back down again so that the download button that's in the bottom right corner of the window is offscreen. The trick that did it for me was to go into the Intel Graphics settings panel, set the screen rotation to 90 degrees, move the Driver Update Utility window to the left, click on the button and then finally set the screen rotation back to 0 degrees.
