MovieMaker 6.0 in Win 7?

Seeing as how the Windows Live Movie Maker doesn't quite cut it, I thought I'd try Vista's version. Surprisingly, it seems to work simply by copying the Movie Maker folder from Vista's Program Files over to Win 7's Program Files folder. I didn't have to register any .dll's, it just worked...

With one exception. Titles. The Titles with effects like Fly in, fly out, etc. They smear the text horribly. I think it is video driver-related, since the same thing happens in my Vista installation with the latest nVidia drivers, but not with the driver supplied by Windows Update (7.15.11.8250).

Unfortunately, I can't find an nVidia driver for Win 7 that works. I know that MM 2.6 works for lots of people in Win 7, but I'd really like to get MM 6.0 to work. Any hints?

Thanks in advance...

System specs in the usual place.

Ok, update time.

I installed Win 7 RC x86 and copied Vista's 32 bit Movie Maker 6.0. Using the nVidia driver installed during Win 7's installation (no updates yet) it worked! I can import movies from my Sony Mini-DV camcorder, edit them, add titles, etc. I did have to register a bunch of dll's to get the "Publish" function working but I am able to "Publish" an hour long movie to the PC and burn it to DVD using Win 7's DVD Maker.

I then gambled and let Windows Update install a new nVidia driver and...
the titles stopped working. I rolled back the video driver and it worked again.

Encouraged by this I re-installed the 64bit version of Win 7 and got the same results. It works with the first video driver from the Win 7 install disk, but any newer drivers break the titles.

Well, at least I'm not alone...

Saw a post on the nVidia forums with the same problem. It seems the latest nVidia drivers have a bug.
