Can any one tell me a good reason why when I move a folder of folders and files any executables in those folders loose their compatibility and administrative settings?

Is there any way to prevent this happening?

If not, is there any way to apply this setting for a collection of files rather than one by one?

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Can you give more details for what you mean by "lose their compatibility and administrative settings"?

I think he means the loss of the compatibility options of the executable files. I have experienced it before. I was in an internet cafe, and I downloaded something, then opened it and it ask me for administrative privileges. I gave it, and copied it to a network folder so that I can use it again. But it asked me again for adm. privileges when I tried to open the file second time. I think he is having this problem. I don't know the solution, didn't tried.

There is no way that works to show you a screen shot. Insert Image and upload attachment continually fail for me.

what I mean is right click an executable file and go to properties and select the compatability tab and click change settings for all users and click run theis program i compatability mode for xp and click run this program as administrator and click ok and ok again.

The resultant settings I could conceivably conseed could be lost on a 'copy' byt I was saying that I moved the files and they are lost!!

Deaconfrost does this make sense?

I think so....moreso than before. So when you move these files, you have to go back in to each .exe and reset your options. I'm not sure if there is a utility out there to move this as well, but maybe someone else will have experience with robocopy or xcopy and can comment.
