Solved Moving Folders from Desktop to My Docs so I can delete off desktop.

Hello Everybody,

I stupidly saved important folders to desktop; When I click properties says location is c\users\user\desktop which to me is where the folder and files are on the HD.

I have tried using a practise folder to get it from desktop to My Docs with properties showing as a Document, so I can delete from the desktop.
When I create folder on desktop and "send to" My Docs it appears in my doc but when I delete from desktop it deletes both.
I looked at a article about the old way drag and drop as XP did. Found the move to under edit but still can't do it.
there must be a way!
I do not use libraries as they confuse me as to where the file is stored on HD and I only have important docs twice a year, which is also the problem, as I don't repeat what I've learnt enough.

I've been storing some on my old XP drive [Has all my old records on] as I can work that, but I thought I could use the Win 7. Well I'm pathetic , I can't even move a document and know its safe on HD.

I do not use the libraries as sounds simple but I never believe I won't accidently delete.>

Any help will be appreciated.

If you right click drag and drop you're offered several options
Move to
Copy to
create shortcut to
And my personal favorite cancel if you make a boo-boo
