I have my full system on a 256 GB SSD in my HP desktop. I bought a new Asus desktop, and I wanted to simply move the SSD into the Asus as the primary drive. As soon as the Windows 7 Logo appears and the dots start moving, BSOD. It is a very quick BSOD that then moves into a reboot so I am not able to see the actual BSOD details. Any ideas?

It is usually very difficult to transfer an existing Windows installation from one computer to another,
as the hardware is usually incompatible. Usually you end up with a BSOD at boot!

Also you cannot transfer your Windows license either as it will render it non-genuine and you
will most likely have activation issues if you ever get it to boot.

The easiest way would be to transfer your OS onto a new HDD and use the SSD as a secondary drive.

There is a tutorial on different methods of achieving this:
