Mozilla Firefox intermittent hangs

Have Firefox 3.5.7 on Win 7 64 bit. Every now and then Firefox hangs in the background instead of closing and cant be reopened. This requires me to restart win 7 during which i have to do a forced close of Firefox.
Anyone else had this problem ? or offer any advice.

Firefox 3.5.7 has never given me any problems.

Why not try the new 3.6 release. Here : Firefox Browser | Free ways to customize your Internet

You don't need to uninstall your existing version and all your bookmarks etc will be saved automatically.

Done. 3.6 installed - lets see how that gets on with my system.
