I have downloaded videos of my cctv cameras onto a usb, it has saved them as mp4 files i have been unable to open them in any program it keeps saying unable to render however i am able to open them in media player classic although they are still not playing properly, it has a blank screen and skips through the video in seconds. I have tried a number of different codec and i am still unable to play the video. Any ideas?? thanks

Since you're running XP , that forum might be a better place for this. But have you tried playing them with VLC? Haven't found anything it wouldn't play, so far anyway :)

I think this method works!
1: Download iTunes
2: Click "Add File" on File Menu
3: Select your MP4
4: Click "Movies" or "Videos"
5: Select your video/MP4
Done! That's what I do, without any problems.

Slow, but faithful.
I just HATE bloatware.
Make sure you finish download the MP4 file. if you make sure about this, this could be the video problem. I ofeten run into the latter issues, you know it's annoying to have it when it takes time to download your favored video. how is your problem now ?
