Hi,
My microsoft 5000 Bluetooth mouse suddenly stopped working with my Dell precision m4500 laptop after nearly a year of working fine. The batteries are new, I tried re-pairing it with the laptop, but it won't discover it when I try to add new device (the mouse is ready to pair). My microsoft bluetooth keyboard still works fine, and I tried pairing the mouse with my macbook, and that works fine. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks.

OK, so I was able to find any answer to my own problem on windows7forums.com.
After no sign of my poor mouse was left on the computer, I went to the windows services program (type services.msc in the start menu search field).
Under services, find Bluetooth Support Service, double-click.
Make sure startup type is Automatic.
Under the Log On tab, select "This Account", type in "Local Service", and delete any entry in Password or confirm password.
After restarting the service, I was able to immediately re-pair the mouse. Halleluja!! Thanks Jetpack1976!

I've had the same problem. My Logitech M555b mouse used to work fine with my Win 7 Pro 64-bit. Recently I've had to reinstall the OS to cure a quite different problem. I've reinstalled the mouse. It can be discovered normally and appears to pair Ok. It shows up OK in Devices and Printers but it resolutely refuses to have any effect. The batteries are OK. I've tried OPBeasts's suggestion above but it's made no difference. Any ideas anyone? John
