MS Games Disappeared

I had installed one of the two MS games that I care anything about...Spider Solitaire, and it was fine, until just a moment ago. When I tried to open it, an error dialog pointing to the file path where I had placed it, said that it couldn't find it. I went to that location and it wasn't there.

I then removed it from Program and Features, and then added it back along with regular Solitaire. It now appears in the start menu, at a different location than before, but when trying to open it, the same error dialog appears, and when going to the file path that it specifies, there is no directory there.

Any idea of what is going on?

Files may have went corrupt...

Do a repair install to fix em'

Thanks, I followed the first suggestion on your link and did a System Restore instead. That seems to have fixed the problem...at least Spider is back. Now to fix the deletions caused by the restore.

As it turned out, the only thing that was corrupt was the Vista Start Menu program that I was using...it had to go.

Seeker, based on this combined with your java problem in another thread, I'm thinking you have some more serious issues going on than you know about. I suggest a wipe of your drive and a clean installation of Windows 7. You could even have a failing hard drive.

You may well be right, but I'm not ready to do anything so drastic, until I'm more certain that it is necessary. I don't recall anything that I previously posted that would particularly lead to this conclusion, but if you could give me more insight into the error that I last posted, it would help a lot.

EDIT: OOPS!, I got cross threaded, and thought that this was the Java thread, rather than what it is. I really believe that this problem is resolved with the uninstall of the Start Menu program.
