MS Office 2010 Question

I currently have MS Office 2003. I figure when Windows 8 comes out in a couple of years I will be forced to upgrade so I have been checking things out. Office 2003 has Outlook, Excel, Word and Access. I don't use Access much but do use the other three alot. In the 2010 Home & Student at $149, it does not have Outlook. The MS Office Standard at $399 does have it. I really like Outlook, is there any other way to get it without spending all that money?

I've been using Mozilla Thunderbird with the Lightning calendar add-on & have grown accustomed to it well - it does everything that outlook did for me... and its free

Unfortunately the short answer to this is no you can't get it as part of Home and Student but it is part of the Office Home and Business version. On Amazon you can buy this for $199.99 as just a product key and (as it says in the description) download Microsoft Office from the website given and activate it with the key you have bought; meaning its only $50 more instead of $150.

If you want you can download the Office 2010 beta to give it a test drive from Microsoft Office 2010 Beta - Free Download for free. This will work until the 31st of October this year.

To mark a post/thread solved, you would just need to report it as solved. This is done by clicking on the red triangle icon w/a exclamation mark in it at the top right corner of the post.

I'm pretty sure Outlook Express came with XP - wasn't it Windows Mail with Vista and 7? The official full version of Outlook comes alone or with versions of Office. I picked up a Student Edition of Office 03 in 2004 and was using Outlook from that until I switched to Thunderbird, so I've never used the Windows default clients.
