Hello,
Son has a 4 yr old desktop pc running W7.
He's not in area, so I can't personally run any experiments with it.
But, I thought I might be able to convey enough, so that you folks might be able to offer
some advice.
My guess is that this is a fairly common problem, and not unique.
He has a legal copy from the University where he works of: MS [FONT="]Office 365 ProPlus.
After 20 minutes or so, might be longer, of the download, his pc "freezes".
No error message.
He has to re-boot the pc to get it functional again.
Also had to uninstall whatever showed of the Office download, and had to restore a bunch of icons that also got corrupted.
So, is this downloading on older pc's a common problem ?
What likely causes the hangup; is it his pc or possibly his internet provider ?
(download attempt was done at night)
Any work-arounds, or suggestions to try to enable a full, complete, normal download of program ?
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
