MS Office Enterprise 2007 - missing Help

I am not sure when this happened, but there is no data in the 'Help' links to any of the modules. When I press the "?" help links, either nothing happens at all or a box opens and when I touch 'list the index' it appears on the left, but nothing displays on the answer box on the right. I have tried repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling - still the same.

I have searched the internet and there does appear to be history on this, but unfortunately none with any resolution to the problem.

If anyone can offer any suggestions I would be extremely grateful.

I simply installed everything, not even noticing any option about 'Help' files.

I cannot remember if that option was checked by default or not, but I "think" that I had to select it myself. I'm no expert on Office, but I did a very quick look, to see if I could find a means to select it from the apps, but didn't find it. You may have to reinstall once more to enable it.

I tried your link, Bill - same result.


However, IT'S NOW FIXED!!

I found the telephone number for Microsoft Support. An access program was installed so that I could share my desk top. He then proceeded to remove Firefox and make IE the default Explorer. All now appears to be fine and in order in Office 2007.

I have just posted to this effect on the Motzilla Firefox forum. Hopefully they will respond and find whatever is causing the conflict.

Hi all,

I know it's been a long time since anything has happened in this thread, but I stumbled across it searching for solutions for a similar problem with missing help in Office 2010 - only I gor a popup asking me if I wanted to Save orCancel various htm-files ("open" was not an option. I could not find much on the internet in general so since I found a work around that worked for me I thought I would post it here - it might work with Office 2007 as well.

I was not happy that the solution was to NOT use Firefox since I need this for FTP.
I found out that if I first uninstalled both FF and IE and thus had no browser at all the help was working again.
After that I installed IE9 (had 8) from scratch (i.e. no previous IE activated).
And then I installed FF7.
My help is now working.
IE is my standard browser.....not sure if that makes a difference or not but I doubt it.
