I downloaded and installed Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and burned the ISO on a DVD. I then proceed to double click on the program which is named GRMCPRXFRER_EN_DVD.

After, the permission windows pops out and tells me if I want to allow the program named "sperr32.exe" run and and I click Allow.

A window with an "X" appears and say
"This installation disc isn't compatible with your version of Windows. To upgrade, you need the correct installation disc. For more information, check your computer's system information. To install a new copy of Windows, restart (boot) your computer using the installation disc, and then select Custom (advanced)."

I already did the "Windows Upgrade Advisor" and it says Windows 7 will work fine but that I must do a custom installation.

I have searched everywhere and the answer I find most is to do a clean installation, which I don't really understand.

So if you can please help with this problem. Either tell me if there's a solution or give me detailed steps as to a clean installation using the ISO on DVD please and Thank you.

Your specs say Vista 32 bit, & you have win7 64 bit install. You cannot upgrade 32 to 64, It must be a clean install. See our tutorials section for clean install.

I apologize, I just downloaded it but not installed yet, I'm in the process lol.

I looked at the following tutorial - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html

but none of the steps that I saw seem to occur to me.

Step 2: When prompted, press any key to boot from the installation DVD - That never happens.

The only thing that shows up is the F2 or F12, I press F2 and then go to boot and choose the DVD drive, save and exit, and yet still nothing happens.

Note: What is on the DVD is - en_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_X15-65805 Type: Disc Image File

Since yours is an older 1.6ghz computer it might be better to download the 32 bit & install it. Did you do the Microsoft compatability test for your computer?

You have to go to windows.old. Look for the file or documents that are needed and treat them just as any other file; copy and paste or send to etc.
I am sure that you are not talking about restoring the old operating system

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19151-windows-old-folder-delete.html

If you deleted per the above tutorial, anything deleted will not be a problem. The .old folder is the old operating system and can be deleted once you are sure that you have backed up all your personal documents, etc.

Regardless of the method of deletion, if just .old and its contents were deleted, you will be fine. Now go out and enjoy the great OS.
