Solved MSE and Bitdefender

As I was having problems earlier with security threads, so firstly is it fine to have 'Bitdefender 10 free' installed?
Secondly, before installing it asks for blocking/uninstalling the existing competition i.e. MSE in this case, in order to have a decent install. So, how wise is it to even try to install it sans active defence; and, more importantly how to do it?

pls suggest.

In all honesty I would stay far away from BitDefender and use the tried and true MBAM and SAS

well for what Its worth, I have bdis 2014, along side malwarebytes,antimalware, windows defender. pc clean as hounds tooth. well pleased, with the protection.

You can use what you like best. I highly recommend not running more than one active anti virus program at one time on one computer.
Not everybody has problems with BitDefender but I have read enough post on this forum of those who have that I also would not recommend it.

What works well for me active is:

Microsoft Security Essentials
Malwarebytes Anti Malware Premium.
