Hi guys
I recently installed MSE and removed my Mcafee Tot Protec. To date MSE has found no threats on my pc.Good news you would think however mcafee frequently used to remove tracking cookies from my system almost on a daily basis but yet MSE removes nothing.Does MSE remove tracking cookies on scans or is there a stand alone program i can use along side MSE.
Thankyou in advance danny

You dont need a separate software to detect and kill the tracking cookies. If you want to avoid them, do it through your browser settings. MSSE doesnt detect the tracking cookies, because they are not a real threat.

Other AV does this to show you they are doing a good job in detection.

No, It doesn't remove tracking cookies. I believe something like CCleaner will get rid of them.

Microsoft said:
MSE does not detect or remove tracking cookies. You can configure your privacy settings in your web browser to accept or block cookies as desired.

I would use CCleaner to remove the cookies:

CCleaner - Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

CCleaner will clean out all of the temporary files on your computer as well as the cookies on your system, I also use the immunize feature on Spybot Search & Destroy to prevent harmfull cookies from entering my system:

The home of Spybot-S&D!

I hope that I have explained this in enough detail, and if you need any further explanation then feel free to contact me.

Tom

Tracking cookies re-appear how many times you remove. Be sure you clear the temp files and internet temp files. Or simply run CCleaner. It does this job real well.

CCleaner removes cookies (as an option) but it does not remove tracking cookies that are usually in the Roaming folder - not in the cookies folder. I use SuperAntiSpyware to remove them.

The simplest thing you can do is to disable third party cookies. Disable First and Third Party Cookies in IE8

There won't be any tracking cookies to delete then.

It doesn't interfere with any websites I use but I'm not sure about poker sites. I think you should try it. It would save you bother in the long run.
