MSE finds problems but cannot fix/quarantine them

I have recently finally got rid of the nagging, meddlesome Kaspersky Free Antivirus (it took some doing) and installed Microsoft Security Essentials instead.

Now, on every run, MSE finds two viruses (hacktool something) but when I press 'Clean this PC' a window comes up with a progress bar that fills to about 80% then sticks there, forever if I hadn't closed MSE in TaskManager.

What to do?

Thank you.

Hi Admiral Awesome,

Would suggest you run
Malwarebytes Free
and ESET on line. (dissable MSE dring the scan)

note did you uninstall KIS in Safe Mode

Yes, but it's so limited - is it still effective?

it says at https://www.eset.com/us/home/online-scanner/: Get a free one-time online virus scan, or a free 30-day trial...

note did you uninstall KIS in Safe Mode

no, I didn't, but there was a removal tool that rid me of the thing. Revo Uninstaller Pro was powerless (a first for me) so I went looking for a dedicated removal tool and that did it.

Hi Admiral,

MalwareBytes is ONLY limited as such because its not a true AV, but it will pick up stuff that MSE doesnt.

For Eset just the one-time scan.
