Internet Explorer makes it easy for a lot of malware to be installed unless the user sets the highest possible security setting which effectively renders this browser useless.

Therein lies the biggest problem. Since we are in a corporate environment, we also have software like Microsoft Dynamics which requires the use of Internet Explorer. It's hard to get an average user to switch back and forth within browsers depending upon what they are doing.

Generally speaking, browsing the web with IE and going on unknown websites is not exactly the best security strategy.

But don't tons of people open up a search engine, search for something and then click through some of the result links? I mean if you have to only use known websites, why would you search. Rather you could simply navigate right to the known site.
