MSE updates

KB2310138 updates MSE, my installed log has countless successful entries. Is it necessary to keep all of them, would deleting some of the old ones come back to bite me.? I have entries back in 2012.

The definition will show the current update,

Tx. I understand the definitions, but what about the old definitions, can I delete the old ones?

You can't delete individual items from the Update History list.
You can clear the Update History list, but it's all or nothing.
You can't uninstall (remove) MSE definition updates.

OK thanks, I do not know if each definition adds to the current definitions or replaces them. I am thinking that each MSE update would no longer use the previous definitions?

I've read MSE uses incremental updates.
If it does it would add new definitions to the existing definitions.

Leave all the updates to MSE there.
They are additional updates to the ones already installed.
Look at the size of the updates. I update MSE about 3 times a day and they are very small. Normally less than 1 mb; which tell me that they are just adding to the already installed KB's.

OK, I will leave them there. Just thinking though If I were to install a fresh Win 7 os on a computer, I do not believe all of those would be there??

It's my understanding when MSE is installed it does a full DB definition update in one update.
It's after the initial full update that updates are incremental.

Correct. When MSE is installed and updated for the first time; take all the updates. Make sure to reboot and check a couple more times to make sure you got all of them.

If your interested in getting rid of unnecessary windows updates I might suggest using this as a safe way to do it,
Use Disk cleanup if more than one user exists on the machine use System clean up as well,
