Solved MSI MS-7525, dead?

hi there

I shutdown my pc last night and it was working fine. This morning i turned on my pc and it wouldn't boot. There is nothing displayed: black screen no beep Hdd light not working. I also tested my motherboard and the voltages are extremely fine (I have a 40w card on a 250w psu and is fine) I removed all of the ram stick and insert them each by each and still no luck.

Did my mobo taken its toll?

How do you know it's not the PSU?

hi, remove all ram and start computer do you get a any beep codes telling you that no ram is installed?(need mobo speaker) for this test? have another power supply to test with?

Also check all connections first including testing the wall power and if the PSU switch got switched, un-plug and plug all connections. My gut is saying look to that PSU.

My PSU is fine, I have a tester. Although the brand Bestec seems to be bad(which is yes on some of their models) the one that i have is fairly decent hasn't failed on me. I did all of your advice and still i dont get beeps (i have a mobo speaker). I have no idea what to do now

no beeps with ram removed indicated mobo issue. but Corsair Builder Series power suplies are not the greatest in my opinion. seasonic or xfx are better choices.

EDIT: a power supply tester only test that it giving out power need to test the supply under load.

Maybe because you know you have a cheap PSU you should look to upgrade it first and try it on your existing mobo! Look to a Corsair of Seasonic unit and don't be afraid to oversize up to 550/750 watt in a silver/gold or platinum rating.

I personally would start with a better power supply. Can't hurt but will help now and in the future.
A bad power supply could damage the new motherboard.
