Ok now for the problem, upon rebooting the system almost always boot up, pass the count up, pass the "firefly" windows 7 loading screen and upon loading to the "welcome page" of Windows 7 I almost always get a "No signal detected" from my monitor.

Originally, I thought this was due to the drivers so I first loaded into safe mode. Uninstalled the default Nvidia WMD driver from microsoft. Rebooted with no display driver installed and loaded right up.

So I decided to update to Driver Version:185.85 latest from MSI website. Only they don't have a version for Windows 7 so I used the Vista 64bit version.

Installed, rebooted same problem, passes the count up, the firefly logo and get the "No signal detected" issue. So I'm thinking ok, maybe since my Video card has two dvi ports its switching the other port on, switch and nothing.

Switch back, uninstall driver and go back to the Microsoft WMD Driver. This time it loads fine, after about 3 or 4 hard-reboots. I shut the system off, restart properly..and passes count, firefly logo...to.. you guessed it "No Signal Detected". If I hard reboot multiple times, eventually I'll get my computer to display the welcome screen without uninstalling any drivers..just rebooting.

I also thought it was switching to a resolution my monitor/tv can't support (max for it is 1280x1024...lame I know, and I want a new monitor) so I hooked up an old CRT which can handle higher resolution and still no signal. Hooked the LCD back up after that.

Now I can't seem to find a solution to this problem. I love Windows 7, I want to use Windows 7 when its comes out in November but I don't want this problem to keep occurring. I have no other issues from Windows 7, never had this issue with Windows XP 32 bit either, before I did a clean install up to Windows 7 RC1 64 bit.

I have more than enough power from my PSU to power the card obviously, so I don't know where to go from here. Any thoughts or help is appreciated, I've tried over at Microsoft Answers Problem with Nvidia GTS8800 and Windows 7 64bit RC1 with no problem solving solutions.

Again thanks for any help and I look forward to hearing back from you guys.

Just updating on the situation, I tried the RTM version and experienced the same or even worse issues. However this time instead of saying "No Signal" I was getting "Not Supported" so I had an old CRT display found a DVI to VGA converter hooked it up and bam video.

Every.Single.Time.

I've rebooted dozens of times now and not a single problem loading video from start now that I'm not using the Olevia.

I don't think that Olevia TV/Monitor could work very well with the DVI signal being sent to it, I know its resolution for "Monitor" mode was very limited at that so now I'm in the market for a real LCD flat planel monitor, so in the even that this happens to someone else. Check your monitor it could be the issue.

I had a simualar problem with a new Lg 23 in Flat acreen. The problem was the refresh rate wasn't set to the proper mhz. This howevr wouldn't help you since you need to get into windows to reset the refresh rate to the manufacurers proper setting. 60hz

Nvdia 8800GTS (monitor goes blank) loss of signal?

Good Afternoon:

This is my first post. This is my first experience with Windows 7.
I like it so far, but I have problem.

My Problem:
After the log in to my account and my desktop appears, shortly after that, the screen goes blank, but the system is still running. That leads me to believe I have lost the signal to the monitor?

Like the user that posted in this thread originally, I have a fresh install of Windows 7. But unlike the original thread, I have a CRT already in place, not a flat panel.

What I've tried:
1. I've loaded the latest driver from Nvdia from their website.
Still have the issue.
2. I've removed the driver and let Windows update via the Windows Update process.

At first, I felt I messed something up, so I re-installed Windows 7.

I'm using Windows 7, 32bit, (X86) Enterprise

I figured this out.

I had a FOCUS Networks 4 port KVM Switch connected.
If I bypass the switch, it works fine.
