Did you check on your Laptop manufacturers website?

You should fill in your system specs, maybe someone with the same laptop could help.
It may be something specific with your Laptop Manufacturer and Model.

I don't have that file on my desktop PC's.
I also don't find anything useful searching for "msibxs32" in Google or Bing.

Did the laptop work ok before, and did this problem just start?
How old is the laptop, or is it new?

I suggest you specify:
What program you installed and uninstalled.
What you did when "it asked if i wanted to remove leftover files and registry entries".
What your Laptop MODEL is. (fill in your system specs)
If it's a month old, you should have a warranty...consider that option.

Here is the Lenova US website: Laptops, Tablets PCs, Netbooks, Desktops, PCs, Computers and Accessories | Lenovo | US
You can go from there and look for support and answers...

When you use Revo Uninstaller it runs the program uninstall routine. Afterwards, it identifies files remaining with a message to the affect that some of the files may be used by other programs. At that point, you need to use caution in reviewing the files & registry entries to determine whether they are safe to remove or not. It appears that's where you allowed the program to remove everything in-mass.

One approach you could try; reinstalling BitDefender (if you are certain that's the program you uninstalled) and then uninstall it using either the programs built-in uninstaller (recommended) or Revo, but don't allow the additional removal of files or registry entries when prompted.

As far as the Lenovo MODEL, one example is "T520".
I would think it would be displayed on the laptop somewhere.

I haven't been able to find any reference to msibxs32 in Lenovo or Bitdefender sites...
So, I still have no idea what this dll is or where it came from.

You could try Sir George's suggestion.

You could also look in Msconfig Startup and see if you can find any references to "msibxs32".
If you find something, uncheck it so it won't try to startup automatically.

You could also try a System Restore to a point before the problem started.

1. Follow Sir George's suggestion
2. Use Speccy and you will be able to fill in your System Specs properly.

SIW will provide you with good info regarding precisely which model you have, a little more complete than that from Speccy.

Also have an Asus ha1002xp netbook with Win 7 Ultimate installed.
Just a suggestion, Download Malware Bytes Anto malware and run this in safe mode, Also try downloading Glary Utilites as thid has a registry repair and registry defrag. I have used these progarms without fail and clearing any issues.
Another suggestion would be to remove your HD and use a HD wire kit that you can by at a computer store. Back up any files to another comuter and then do a compllete reinstall of windows. Then re-import your files.
As usual others with more experience may have better suggestions.

Do NOT under any circumstances install and use Glary Utilities.

These "utilities" have caused users and us much grief.

If you have a problem, a question, let us know.

Registry defrag is a file of total nonsense--totally useless.

We are working with Windows 7 and not with Win eXPired.

Registry repair is also totally harmful.

There is zero need to remove his HDD.

Sir George has given some solid advice.

We are awaiting the thread starter's report before making any further suggestion.

Many have not made that giant step from the procedures and tools used back in the XP days.

Something to consider ?

SamBlues said "i think i had installed a trial version of bitdefender"
So, re-installing/uninstalling bitdefender may not be the issue...

The more time goes by, more new restore points may get created, deleting older restore points...
Eventually any/all restore points from before the problem started may get deleted.

I have seen many threads where the person did not have a restore point prior to the issue when they tried to restore.

That's why i wouldn't rule out using a Restore Point before too long, or checking on Restore Point storage and how many are available.

Hi Samblues, welcome back to 7F! :)

Please re-read the suggestions offered so far since your last visit back in May.

Did you try to install/uninstall bitdefender?
Did you try the system restore?
Did either work?

These will be the questions that will be asked of you by at least David and karl.

What specifically have you tried since May?

What is this other .dlls name?

Meanwhile I'll try to track down msibxs32.dll

EDIT:

Are you sure the name of that .dll is msibxs32.dll?

Your welcome David!

I did try searching for msibxs32.dll, but as you have found, it is an elusive animal.

Just looking at the file name I tried breaking it down:
  • msi could stand for Microsoft Installer.
  • b could stand for bitdefender.
  • xs32 could stand for the bittage of the .dll.
I was going to download one of the Bitdefender programs just to check its files to see if it did have msibxs32.dll included, but curosity killed this cat as there were too many hoops to jump through.
