Multi Function Colour Laser ??

I am considering buying a multi function colour laser (Print - Copy - Scan) with both duplex printing and duplex scanning. I really don't know where to start with making a good choice of make / model. This is for home use and part of the project is to scan in a couple of filing cabinets worth of A4 documents so would need it to have a reliable Automatic Document Feeder (Duplex).

Has anyone recently purchased one that they are very pleased with?

Any advice appreciated.

Hello!

This won't be particularly helpful, wait for someone else, but people say that HP hardware is very good, but the drivers and software are notorious. Dells are rebranded Lexmarks, and recommended by very, very few. Canon are supposed to be very good though....

One problem with your specifications is that most all-in-one colour printers will scan but most will not scan both sides at the same time. Also, the good ones are very expensive and the cartridges cost quite a bit.

I recommend the fujitsu scanners as some will scan both sides of documents and works well.

Duplex printing is normally only on the higher end color laser products and as I said can be expensive.

My recommendation is a good color laser printer and a fujitsu scanner, Probably cheaper in the long run.

I have dos 6.22, wfwg 3.11, win98, 2000 and xp VHD's available for testing. MS's Virtual PC works great.
Two that I have come across this morning are the:

Oki MC561DN and Brother MFC 9465CDN

Has anyone any experience of either of these?

Have you looked at the local reviews in your UK sites?

Both seem to come out reasonable in reviews and the Oki has the added benefit of a 3 year warranty and £50 cashback from the manufacturer.

Just wondering if anyone on this forum owned either model?

Went for the OKI MC561dn. Now I have to work out how to use it as per questions in another thread I have started. Would never have thought it could be so complicated or is it just me? ! !
