Multi Windows 7 OS's?

I have 3 computers so do I have to spend $600 to put the OS on each computer. I take it that it's not like McAfee and you can buy for 3 PC's?

If you have 3 computers, you can partake in the Windows 7 Family Bundle which provides 3 licenses for Windows 7 Home Premium and the cost is $150.

The only requirement is that it's an upgrade...so you would have to previously have a copy of Windows on the machines. This usually isn't a problem for most people.

There is going to be a Family Pack for Windows 7 Home for 149 and it allows installation on 3 computers.

I think all upgrades to windows 7 has to be from Vista to Windows 7. One of my Computers has XP Pro. I know there are some sites that offer Vista with the Windows 7 upgrade but I didn't book mark it. If anyone gets more info like a web page where they are selling family packs or Vista with an upgrade to Windows 7 place let me know. Thank you

You can use the upgrade discs with both Vista AND XP. MS has even said at times that Windows 2000 will work, too.

You simply can't upgrade from XP and optionally have your settings, programs, and files carry over -- it will force a fresh install.

The family packs aren't expected until this fall, and they won't be permanently available. Though they've announced their existence and pricing, I haven't seen anyplace doing pre-orders for those just yet. They probably don't want to cut into those who want to pay full price for pre-orders now.

Anyway, they *will* be out. $150 for a 3-pack of Home Premium upgrades, and they *will* work coming from a genuine copy of XP, too.

You certainly can obtain the Family Pack for $150 if you are coming from XP. As others have said, it won't function like an upgrade...but will rather be a fresh install. And for me, that's a non-issue as I have NEVER and will NOT upgrade any OS. I always just back up my data and start from scratch. Why bring over any potential problems with you.
