I have my main monitor hooked up using a DVI-D cable and a second monitor hooked up using an HDMI cable.
The system and nvidia now see my main monitor as monitor two, and the extra monitor as one.
When I use only one monitor hooked up with the HDMI cable it blinks off and on like it is switching modes. It is annoying so that is why I use the main monitor with the DVI-D cable.
It seems like the video card (gtx480) treats the HDMI port as the main display port. Is that true?
Question is why doesn't the system see my main monitor as monitor one and the other monitor as two?
Note that I can't switch them around in Window or nVidia CP.
Thanks in advance.

Yup! Purchases another DVI-D cable and all is ok.
