Hello All,

First off Thank you for looking at this post. I will begin with some history with this machine. I am Running an Asus N56VZ I will attach all the Specifications for this in a text file. I Keep getting random BSOD as you can see in the title they are random but i have gotten each at least twice. I have read online that first off this laptop has issues with the stock memory that comes in it because the timing is off. I bought memory that is of the correct timing. I just tested the memory today with Memtest86 and it all checked out. I updated all my drivers they are all of the latest. I Completely removed my Nvidia Graphics card drivers (also hit delete driver under computer management when i installed) and reinstalled it using the lasted drivers through Nvidia's website. Updated my chipset driver, storage controller driver. I am not sure what else to do. although people online all have memory issues with this laptop and they all either buy the memory i have or they use a modded bios. I already made a post requesting a modded bios on biosmods and am waiting for someone to make one. I figured i would see if someone else can shed some light on this issue. I will attach the .dmp files as well.

Thank you,
Ben M

Where did you get your BIOS? I cannot find it back at ASUS support page.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.
  1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
  2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
    • Double click the executable to open it
    • Click on the button shown below
383277d1457686663-bsod-bitdefender-antivirus-2016-desktop-pc-ss-2015-08-30-10.29.33-.png

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

Finally found the BIOS :)

Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from ASUS. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver, you can use this tutorial to do so :ar: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html

okay, Removed everything Nvidia with that uninstaller you posted. Ive been looking for something like that sense this issue started happening all i kept getting was check the box under device manager. thank you for that as well as all your help! I reinstalled then using the settings you said check clean install, and only check the display and physics driver. I also downloaded it as you instructed off of Asus website under the display drivers Tab. Question though should i not update the driver when it asks me to through nvidia control panel? i normally dont because ive found with my desktop troubleshooting my nvidia card in there that one i find a good driver version from nvidia i keep it and never update it haha. also what next if anything other than to test it?

You would want to have as less as possible software installed with the drivers (done via the method described above) to make sure there is no software conflict.

In the past a service from Nvidia was known for causing a lot of trouble, I usually suggested to disable the service or something like that, but eventually the best troubleshooting became to remove all software.
