Multiple BSOD computer unstable

Greetings!
I began experiencing infrequent freezes/BSOD's with varying codes. They became more frequent, until the computer was rendered unusable. I then installed a new hard disk, processor, ran memtest86 and checked temperatures, and no dice.

I freeze repeatedly in safe mode, so I have only completed part of the instructions for posting dmp files. The original system is several years old, a Compaq Presario SR5710F and originally came with Windows Vista installed.

Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 (brand new install)
AMD Athlon Dual Core 4450e 2.31 GHz

Thanks for the considerations

Please run these tests and report back the results
1. Memtest86 - Run for 7-8 passes - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html
2. Prime95 - Run all three tests for 3-4 hours each or until fail - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-cpu-stress-test-prime95.html

As stated before, Memtest86 turned up no faults.
Prime95 is unsuccessful since the PC is not stable even in SafeMode and will crash even while sitting idle within 5 minutes of startup.

Is the power supply failing? My first thought, I don't know much about it but maybe others will be able to spark some insightful information...

It doesn't seem to be, though I wouldn't know how to tell short of swapping it out. I bought this ATX 550 watt psu when I bought my geforce 9600 gso a few years back. Any thoughts?

I would try a different PSU if you can.

Did you run memtest for 7-8 passes?

If the computer keeps crashing in safemode, and you can't run tests, then you'll need to start swapping hardware to figure out which it is.

I ran memtest a couple weeks ago for an entire day with no faults (each stick separately, then both together)

Just put in another psu and am still getting crashes.

The only piece of hardware left is the motherboard

That is what I figured. Got geared up for fixing it yesterday afternoon as I had a new motherboard coming in, but received the wrong one. I still had the bug to work on it a bit, and so I thought I would get a second opinion.

Thank you.
