Guys it's driving me nuts. Lately I've been experiencing multiple BSODs, a lot of them. Until I reinserted my 4GB ram(1 stick) and I can barely use this machine but it's freezing randomly. I attached the BSOD info and DXdiag.

I'm using win 7 ultimate 64bit and my system is 3 weeks old. I must hurry before it freezes again. Thank you.

Hi thanks for replying. I'm currently running memtest and I'm at pass #2 and I already have 929282 errors. Is it bad, no? I only have 1 ram stick at the moment and how do I know whether the mobo ram slot is bad or the ram itself?

Do you have another stick of RAM you could borrow? Did you always have only one stick of RAM? You can also try testing the RAM in different slots and see if you still get errors.

I appreciate your reply mgorman. I always have one stick of RAM, I'll try testing on the other slot after 7 passes. And may I ask why suggest to remove avast? I will try your suggestions. Thanks.

It was the cause of one of your BSODs

I believe that if it's already generated errors, then waiting for 7 passes is a waste of time. If you haven't already, re-seat the RAM in the same slot and try memtest again. If it generates an error, call it off and put the RAM in another slot. If it errors out again it's PROBABLY the RAM, but it's worth trying all slots (if you have more than 2).

I wrapped up the memtest at tje 3rd pass which gave me over. a million of errors. I will now test my stick in the other slot...Is it okay to conclude that it's a bad ram?

If it throws errors in another slot then yea it's probably bad ram

Alternatively, I hope I didn't fry the ram because of improper grounding...If one of the computer component is fried due to static does it remain partially functional or completely broken right off the bat? I'm worried.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Sorry to say, it varies. More often than not, improper grounding combined with an electrical discharge will just fry something, but not always. As mgorman87 said, if the stick errors in memtest in a DIFFERENT slot, the RAM is almost certainly bad. The only way to be sure is to test with a known good stick.
