multiple BSOD. please debug

Hi,

i am getting at least one BSOD per day and they just occur randomly with different messages on the BSOD. could it be faulty memory? although my memory has been fine up until now (these BSODs started at the end of nov and memory is 2 years in use.)

the reason i question the ram is because i did memtest+ and let it run for about 6 hours and got 26 errors...

also,

i recently installed a new sound card around the time the crashes started - Creative Labs Sound Blaster *X-Fi* Xtreme Music SB0460


could this be causing the crashes?

Seems you need to replace your RAM sticks, recent dumps all blames memory corruption


Install the latest drivers for your card
Creative Worldwide Support > Sound Blaster

so its definitely the ram then? are there any tests i can do to confirm, apart from memtest+, which i have done

Remove all of your RAM except for the stick in the first slot. Run Memtest for at least seven passes. If you see no errors, remove this stick, mark it as good and test the next stick. Repeat for all of your RAM sticks. Next take a good stick a test the next slot to see you have a bad RAM slot.

this is very strange - ive done the tests you suggested for both the ram sticks and then both slots and have come back with no errors at all! (seven passes for each)

not sure what to do next

Run your computer for a while with both sticks in place. If you get another BSOD, upload it, and run your computer for a while with one stick of RAM and see if it crashes. Then try the other stick. Your RAM sticks may be incompatible. Are they both the same brand and the same model number?

That makes it questionable. There is the possibility the RAM is not compatible with the motherboard. There is definitely a RAM problem.

Your latest dump does not give us any specific information; it does indicate memory corruption. In addition to the RAM problem, you have outdated drivers loaded on your system. Older drivers can and do cause memory corruption and crashes. The ones in red font are really obsolete. Update the following drivers from the links provided.

Renaming drivers: create a restore point, using Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers, locate the driver files, and rename them from .sys to .old. Reboot and the drivers will not load. This will break whatever software or hardware these drivers are associated with.
