One Related to BitLocker Drive Encryption Driver from Microsoft Corporation. One hardware.

May be bitlocker or a HD issue. I would stop using bit locker to test

BTW your drivers are not current

How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

I have removed clone cd so im assuminfg this will remove the ElbyCDFL.sys

Regarding these

adpu320.sys 2/27/2007 8:04:15 PM
SiWinAcc.sys 6/14/2007 8:02:02 PM
SI3114.sys 4/10/2008 4:19:32 PM the only one on the link u posted is SI3114r or s??
Ph6xIB64.sys

when i googled some of these i could not seem to find anything newer thean already installed?
Is there a program you reccomedn for me to purchase?

Regarding the sinwinacc.sys driver, im clue less to no what is using that driver
it could be a non raid sata 4 port controller in the system, but im not sure and on clicking on silicon image page im not sure what product would relate to that driver?

Alos i have just updated these two drivers using drivermax
adaptec scsi card 39320d 7.00.0012

And
intelich1or sata ahci controller
11.1.0.1066

there are a few more drivers out of date, but driver max has 2 downloads a day max and the other drivers are non system drivers i think

Edit i have updated all drivers with drivermax, is there nayway of telling if it has done the job right,?

Any help would greatly be appreciated

We dont recommend "drivermax" type utilities because each one has its own description of the newest driver.

Regarding drivers in general, if it is before June 1009 it isnt win 7 compliant and needs to be installed in compatibility mode

To install an older driver in win 7 you need to install it in compatibility mode.

To install in compatibility mode right click the installer, go to properties, then compatibility. Choose the appropriate OS

hi zig thanks again for replying! ur right about drivermax it has messed up my drivers so luckly i backed them up within the program and rolled them back

i have managed to update adpu320.sys to the latest, via drivermax but that was the only things worth taking from that

i am having difficulty finding updates for
SiWinAcc.sys
SI3114.sys
Ph6xIB64.sys

when i installed windows i ran windows update utility for Microsoft and other drivers
and it must have installed the above three automatically

im assuming the updater would find a compatible upto date driver for my win 7 64 bit system?

as im having difficulty finding newer versions than the ones you listed, also many driver discs may have been misplaced,

so im not sure were i can find the driv ers for the specific .sys files mentioned to run them in compatibility mode?

Thanks again for your help!

I'd solve the overheating issue and see if the problem repeats.

If not then look over these steps for getting a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which also apply to retail.

It's important to get a baseline install with the drivers provided by the installer and quickly updated via optional Windows Updates. Win7 is driver-complete and is the authority on its own drivers. Only import drivers that are missing in Device Manager after all initial updating is done. Drivers should only be changed out if performance dictates doing so. This is not XP.

Thanks very much for your help greg
iam waiting on some new tim and a new freezer pro cooler, as soon as it arrives ill fit it and then reinstall windows
its a shame as i have only just insatlled windows fresh on this new intel ssd, luckly enough acording to device manager there are no yellow explanantions, also is it recommended clicking on each item in device manager and clicking update driver, just to be sure of fresh drivers? im just wondering is this the sam as running windows update from the start menu?

its s a self build system and my board is the asus p6t deluxe v2, so would i be right in saying i should get all the stock drivers from there website, install them all and then apply windows update??

Thanks mate!

As Greg has stated, there is no reason to use any driver programs with windows 7. It does a great job by itself. But then if you have some old hardware, you will have to do some digging. Install windows, run windows update completely, then check device manager for any problems. I have come across some hardware that does not have drivers for W7 64 Bit but are available for W7 32 bit. ( Vista drivers for example )

Please read again what I said about drivers as I think you might have missed the point, Bill.

Nor is it necessary to click on each Device to Update Driver because Windows Updates scans them all to see if Win7 has a newer driver which it wants for the Device. This is why I said to wait until the initial rounds of Updates are done before importing any Drivers missing in Device Manager.

Unless an element of the chipset is missing in Device Manager I would wait to test performance before changing out the chipset or any other driver outright.

Hi adam thanks agfain for your reply, thrers a few things that maybe a bit old but fuinny enough windows updater has found them before i was just curioous to solve the problem with zigzag saying some drivers were old, but as i menetioned windows update had fully been run, and i assume there mustnt be newer ones avalible as windows theoretically should have found them?

the only oldish hardware in there, is a adaptec scsi card 39320, but ive managed to get latest driver from 2010 which was made after win 7,
the other hardware in there, (which came with drivers but the cd was broke) i a 4 port sata non raid card allowing me to have more hd connected, i have one hard drive connected to it, and its been fine, again, windows update found the driver for it
Im assuming this is probably one of the older drivers i cant seem to get as in the .sys files mentioned by zigzag
SiWinAcc.sys
SI3114.sys
Ph6xIB64.sys

Thanks again for all the help!

Don`t worry about what zigzag tells you, just check device manager for any problems and go from there. Sometimes you just gotta say bye bye to old hardware.;)

And when I say zigzag i meant a program, not the user. If that was the name of it.

Hi greg sorry about that

when i first installed win 7 and updated there were no intal yellow explanination marks next to the drivers?
so am i right in saying windows update did a correct job?

and also this time after reinstalling im a right in saying install drivers from asus first and then check windows update?

wereas zigzag said before to update the drivers he mentioned, then surely they are the latest drivers avalible as windows update is not finding anything newer?

and if they are a possible cause as what zig said said how would i go about gfinding a resolution>?

***im sorry if im repeating myself things seems to be going over my head, as its 5am in the morning over here and ive been trying to eradicate a few problems!

Againg hanks for all your help!

I'd work with zigzag to see if any of the drivers are traced to BSOD since he is a specialist in that area.

To find out what the drivers are you only need to Google them. For example I highlight each of the three above and rightclicked Search with Google and knew what they were in seconds.

I was offering more General advice if the overheating issue or changing specific drivers which the BSOD specialists identify as a cause don't solve your problem. I myself would want a baseline perfect clean reinstall with only the Win7 installer and Update drivers to troubleshoot from there.

Thanks adam!

its a strange one as previously i had win 7 installed for over 18months in the system and never had a bsod, i had freezes etc every now and then but nothing to bad, and all the hardware seemed to plod along well together

the only hardware changes since then, is a ati hd540 vga card

and a brand new intel 520 series 120gb ssd

Thanks again mate appreciated!

@greg thanks again!

ill do the bassline regarding the fresh install, install manufacturer drivers and then run windows update

but regarding the .sys files after googling them i could find general information but was stumped on findng maybe the correct installer package that would apply a fresh update of that driver, thats why i was hoping of finding it thru windows updater, but its not picking it up so it must be the last version made, and as mentioned before i didnt seem to have any problem with them on a prrevious install on the smae system which ran win7 for 18month, but obviously there casuing a problem now, its identifying maybe exactly what they are and install package wise with that causing a bit of a problem

Regarding older hardware, i think the ph6x(etc.sys is down to an older pre 2009 pinnacle pctv card in the system, but this was in the system previously when it ran perfect

maybe im not seeing it right as ive got a hell of migraine coming on!

Edit i mamnaged to find the silicone 150 sata driver for siwinacc.sys, the driver on the site was the smae as the one installed i downloaded and tried to install/update, but i think it was older than the one on there, so i deleted the hardware from device manager, reooted windows and windows update found it and reinstalled a fresh copy of it,
the driver date of the actual package was 22/04/2009
and the driver version was 1.2.9.0 (which is the same as silicone website)

@zig

Remaining the only driver now with what im having trouble finding is
Ph6xIB64.sys, (i think its releated to a pinnavle pctv 7010x tv/sat pci express card installed) and what it was installed. i think i have updated/removed the other drivers that were a problem as per you mentioned

Reagdring the pctv card i dont really use the card at the minute but i plan to once i get the tv aerial setup in the room, however this card was installed previously before making a fresh install of windows 7 on the new ssd i have bought, and i can report in the 18 months of running win 7 i never had any blue screens or problems with the computer and this pinnacle card was present then, the only change to the system, is a low profile ati hd 5450 vga card, and the new intel 520 ssd drive

I look forward to your reply

And thanks again!

I would remove the card and its drivers until you resolve this issue and until you plan to use it. If the help file is that old the software must be as well and cannot be win 7 compliant UNLESS you install it in compatibility mode and even then it may not be.

To install an older driver in win 7 you need to install it in compatibility mode.

To install in compatibility mode right click the installer, go to properties, then compatibility. Choose the appropriate OS

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html?ltr=C

Regarding a baseline: I would do a clean install and not use anything not on the win 7 dvd as my baseline. Then you can add 3rd party software until a problem arises and you will know what it is that caused it.
