I am using:

Windows 7 Premium Home 64
First install, full retail bought in February 2012
HP Pavilion dm4

I can't seem to upload the System Health report but have included the other requested files.

BSOD appears without any apparent pattern. The last 2 days there have been 5 crashes.

Thanks in advance for the help.

All your drivers seem to be up to date so just make sure all Windows updates are installed including the latest Service Pack.

You should also update any other drivers you can think of including graphics, audio, chipset etc.

What anti-virus are you using? I can't seem to find one in your dump file.

Enable Driver Verifier. Enabling this should hopefully crash your system and then point to the faulty driver that is causing problems. However before you do, it is advised that you create a system restore point and backup first.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

Finally, as you only recently bought the computer have you tried returning it to where you bought it from? IS it under warranty?

I have all Windows updates installed, including SP1. I also went to device manager and manually updated everything in there. The virtual miniport adapters said they were up to date but there are yellow triangles on the icons. The only other driver that needed updating was the mouse device.

I am using Microsoft Security Essentials.

I can't do a backup right now because I don't have access to any kind of external drive; I bought this computer a few weeks ago just days before leaving the country for work and this BSOD started not long after. So I don't know if enabling Driver Verifier is a good idea without backing up. I did a system restore after the first crash but the BSOD started again yesterday.

I did not get any additional warranty nor have I been able to bring it back to the store as I am thousands of miles away...

The crash only seems to happen when I am connecting to a wireless device at my office location. So far I haven't had a crash other than this one place; hotel wireless has been fine. I read that the crashes could be due to wireless adapters. Any other information you can provide to help me solve this is appreciated.

Thanks!

What brand and model is the wireless device at your office?

Would you be able to see if anyone else using the same wireless device gets any BSOD's?

I don't know what brand/model the device is; I will tell you tomorrow..

However it doesn't look like that's the culprit because my PC crashed in the hotel today.

Error code was "PFN List Corrupt". Blue Screen View shows same file responsible for crash, "ntoskrnl.exe".

Uploaded the .dmp file.

The following drivers need to be updated:

Code:
ALSysIO64.sys Mon Apr 20 05:41:04 2009
These drivers can be found by searching them in Google and then finding the associated software or driver. Finally, find the latest version of this driver or software and download and install it. Some of the drivers may also be found here (if the driver says 'Windows Update' simply make sure all Windows Updates are installed).

Driver Verifier would be great toward solving your problem so if you can, try and burrow an external drive from a friend or from the office. If you can't though, that's okay.

Okay I went ahead and updated that driver, and BSOD crash again today. I've got an external drive and will do a backup, run Driver Verifier and get back to you. Attached most recent dmp file.

Jaidyn,

I'm following protocol here. This is all new to me, so bear with me.

I enabled Driver Verifier and upon restart Windows failed to open with an immediate BSOD. No issue pointed out, but here are the tech details:

0x0000001E (0xFFFFFFFF000005, 0xFFFFF80002EC9456, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

Restarted from there, went through a start-up repair and restore, and got this error message before Windows loaded:

>SetupNew/setup.cpp (135)
PAPP:
PVENDOR:
PGUID:
$14.0.0162
@windows vista sp1 (7601) NonIE/Netscape
9034.102

Windows then loaded. Not sure why this says Vista SP1? Also, there may not have been a new dmp file.

Give me something good!

The dump points to tcpip.sys, a Windows system file related to NIC/wireless drivers. Therefore you will need to update your network and wireless drivers.

I need to help you get your network devices all re-installed with proper steps, but I do not know your HP dm4 model. Can you give more information to the model? There are a ton of HP dm4s available.

I had trouble reinstalling the Bluetooth driver; it didn't complete installation because there was no device to connect to..?

Also, when I open device manager and expand network adapters, I see Intel Centrino WiMax 6150, Intel Centrino Wiireless-N 6150, and two Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapters (which I disabled on my own because I thought these were the problem before yesterdays crash), and the Realtek PCIe (the installation for this went fine, no problems).

So which of these does the new driver app reinstall? Both Intel drivers and the Virtual Miniports? Can I just uninstall the virtual miniports?

Yes, you want to uninstall all devices including the virtual miniports. The device drivers should take care of them, and if not, Windows will find the appropriate drivers for them.

For the Bluetooth driver: is your Bluetooth device turned on? I know most system have methods to turn off the device itself, so it may not be found. If you don't use Bluetooth, I would not worry too much about this. You are welcome to upload the full crash reports and see if your Bluetooth device is listed as a problem device just to be sure it will not cause problems. :)

And again! I installed all the new drivers, and all was well for about a week. This time the BSOD was related to "System Service Exception". It also happened two days ago, and then twice in a row today. My internet is really slow so I only uploaded today's crash info.

I am not currently at my debugging computer, but I would suggest a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html of Windows 7. If you need help finding a Windows 7 disc, refer to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html steps 1. and 2. You may also want to pay attention to 3. and backup your system before doing the repair install.

I suggest a repair install because the driver fixes seemed to have temporarily worked; to me this indicates it is a software/driver issue and a repair install should fix it.
