Hi mate, Arc has requested some of BSOD Team stop by to take a look at your problem as his internet access is causing him issues at the moment. I've taken a look at your last three dumps and the last two are STOP 0x124 which indicate a hardware issue, unfortunately they very rarely pinpoint which piece of hardware it is and that is the case here. Looking at the dump previous though your GPU has been highlighted.

Xileize, let me see if I can hep out. Arc is having Network problems, so I am trying to fill in for him until his ISP gets back up and running. I haven't had time to read the entire thread so if I ask you to do something that has already been suggested, just tell me. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. I don't mind explaining a bit. Now for your dump, really little info to go on. Several of us have tried to help Arc out and we take different approaches. So, please don't let the differences in approaches confuse you. Just do what you think you would be most helpful and let us know what you have done. take your time and work though it as you have time and let us know what you have done and the results. You will not hurt anyones feelings, we are all friends and know how each other work. Just let us know. But please let me know about which was your old card and which is your new card. I would also like to know what make and model PSU tou have and your CPU cooler. Just don't be confused.

Bugcheck 124 is a general hardware fault and gives little to no information as to what hardware it is. It can be a piece of hardware that is failing or an errant driver that make a piece of hardware act in a very unusual way making Windows think the hardware is going to damage the computer so it BSOSs to protect itself.

I know that you ran memtest86. Did you run memtest86+ from Memtest86+.ORG ? That is the best memory tester we have. As with all stress tests nothing is absolute proof, they make mistakes sometimes.

One thing that concerns me is, according to your system specs you have 2 types of memory from 2 different companies and 2 densities. Generally, that is a no-no. That is asking for problems. I would like you to take the 2 1GB modules out and use only the 2 2GB modules in the slots recommended by your Motherboard manufacturer. Next I would like for you to go to your Motherboard's web site and update all of your Motherboard drivers to the latest version. You can usually tell by the version number. The higher number versions are more recent.

Next, I noticed you mentioned that you changed graphics cards. You list an Nvidia card in your system specs. What was your old card and have you done a clean install since you swapped cards?

In the dump file I just mentioned, I did notice vague references to your page file and/or virtual memory. Have you made any changes to that or is it Windows Managed? If you have made changes, please set it back to Windows Managed. Also, if you are overclocking anything, please go into bios and set everything back to default settings.

Some of the previous files were Windows Update files, please go to Windows Update and make sure all important updates are installed. You can also click on installed updates and see if any failed. If you see one that failed, look at all the updates after that one and see if you see the KB # as being installed after that.

Next, I would like, if you don't already have it to download and Install CPU-Z CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting . Then I would like you to post screenshots of CPUz CPU, Mainboard, Memory and SPD tabs. Only the SPD tabs with memory installed. You can select each dim by a dropdown list in the upper left. Next, I would like you to update your system specs in case you have made changes to hardware since filling that out. This is my typical post that may help you. Please give manufacturer and model number for each piece in case we may need to look them up.

Please open a elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know. Even if you have done this before, it won't hurt to do it again.

I would also like you to run you hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic test using the DOS test and run both the long and short test. This is the Western Digital one WD Support / Downloads / SATA & SAS / WD Black

Hello Essenbe,

First off, my old card was an nVidia 8800GTX, and my new card is an nVidia MSI 560Ti Twin Frozr II. My current power supply is a Corsair GS700 and my CPU cooler is a Tuniq Tower 120.

Regarding me running the memtest, I was using memtest86+. I have tried running with only the 2x2GB RAM sticks in but I still received multiple BSODs.

My page file and virtual memory is Windows Managed and I have never changed it.

I believe that my motherboard drivers are up to date, though the Abit website seems to not have working versions of the drivers my motherboard uses.

My PC is overclocked, but I only did that recently, long after I started having problems. I can set it back to default but it has sat through 12+ hour Prime95 tests without crashes etc.

I looked through Windows Update and there were a few entries that had failed that didn't seem to go through again, which I have now downloaded and installed.

I ran sfc /scannow in administrator mode and no problems were found.

I have included screenshots from CPU-Z for the things you requested. I will run the diagnostic test on my hard drive and get back to you as soon as possible.

You need to set everything back to defaults until we get you stable. As you can see from the badge below my signature, I am not opposed to overclocking. But one thing I know for sure is, if you are not stable at stock, you will never have a stable overclock.

What is your Dram Voltage in BIOS? Set it at 1.8V and your Command rate (CR) at 2T.
