Hello,

I have been recently getting a lot of bluescreens related to my graphics card ( AMD R9 280). When in safe mode of when in windows with the graphics card unplugged (using on mobo onboard driver) I do get any blue screens.

I have uninstalled all AMD drivers using AMD's uninstall utility and have since reinstalled them with no luck.

*note* The log collector was run with the graphics card currently unplugged.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello Nick,

I noticed that there were no dump files in your file, do you know if Windows doesn't create them or what? It would just help us immensely if we had the .dmp files as they hold much of the key information about why your system crashed.

If you don't know if Windows is creating the dump files you can follow this guide:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html

And to check if your system already have created .dmp files, open up explorer, paste this into the address bar: %SYSTEMROOT%/minidump and press enter, if you find any files in there upload them here please!

This might be the actual cause however with so little information about your system, one can't be too certain.
But after every non-scheduled shutdown the computer reported that your PC became really hot 399 Kelvin which means like 125 Celsius so you might just have a bad computer case that builds up heat too much.

I also saw that your computer crashed because of a BugCheck 0x00000117 which might be because of old device drivers.

But before we continue, please do upload the .dmp files, thanks!

Cheers! /Boris :)

Sorry for the late reply, I had to take a few days to get the display back to working. I'm also thinking its because of old drivers but I just updated them and it still BSOD's occasionally. On top of this, scrolling and moving the mouse vigorously causes video, and audio to lag.

Please see attached dump files.

Cheers,

Nick

Hello Nick, thanks for the files.

All the dump files point to only one error called VIDEO_TDR_ ERROR which indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed.

And also when I loaded the most recent dmp file it said that the crash was probably caused by atikmpag.sys which is the driver for an AMD based graphics card.

So what I would recommend is that you download and install Revo Uninstaller and completely remove everything from AMD, reboot and then you reinstall the drivers, I would prepare myself by having the correct drivers on the desktop in a folder if something were to happen.

Cheers Nick and I hope you get it fixed

/Boris :)
