Multiple IE Windows Open

I sometimes have five or six Internet Explorer windows open. How much of an additional load would this put on the system. I have been having an overheating problem and can not quite put my finger on the problem. Would having several IE windows open cause a great strain on the system or not enought to matter. Thank,

It may be poor ventilation

Five or six windows (tabs open on one instance of IE?) not mush more than one open tab. five or six instances of IE, is lots of extra stress.

It depends what you've got running in them.

Of course having a couple of extra Windows open will take up a little bit more of your CPU but usually no more than 5% at most.

The thing which I would be more concerned about is how many of those Windows have flash content running in them.

Depending on your system config etc. flash can take up to 5% of your CPU when idle and is supposedly the number one cause of browsers crashing.

Flash can easily take up a lot of your CPU and cause it to heat up, sometimes significantly, even watching just a simple YouTube video.

I don't think the culprit is flash because the only bit of flash that site uses is for the add at the start, the rest is done using Javascript.

If you open Task Manager and try to reproduce the conditions under which your PC really starts to heat up and take a snapshot of the Task manager's process tab using the snipping tool and post it here we can go through and see what processes are eating up your CPU.

Could you also as a comparison upload a snapshot of the processes tab in Task Manager when your system is idle and isn't overheating.

If you ahve any questions or need any help doing this just ask.
