My computer has been crashing lately and its happening regulalrly. I will try my best to explain and also list what I am running. If there are any things I can research or check let me know.

First it used to shut down during the night while I would stream a online radio show. Found out that it was scheduled to defrag at night and turned that off. Problem remained. Then it would have problems booting up. It couldn't find the drives. I unpluged the drives, reinstalled memory and that seemed to go away. I removed the program Adware, seemed to update its self on boot upand that cuased issues.

Then the screen with freeze using a browser or if I am running a couple programs at once. Will not allow you to "Ctrl +Alt+Delete". Have to reboot.

I got a blue screen a few days ago but just one time.

I booted up and my clock was wrong. Thought the battery was bad and that has gone away and seems to be ok. A couple times when I powered down the keyboard stayed lit and I could hear the processor or a fan still running.

The remaining issue is it freezes. Either working with the browser or if I have programs running. I have scanned the system for all spyware and adware. Ran C-Cleaner. Ran Norton.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional
Firefox and IE
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.41 GHZ
Two internal drives
NVIDA GeForce FX5200

Dean: no minidumps exist on the hard drive. Kernel Memory Dump is selected, as we can see from the jcgriff2 report. See the PM I sent you last week.

Records show that the dumps did exist at one point:

It must be the dumps were deleted somehow; please disable any cleaning programs you may be using.

However, since the primary problem is not BSODs, we may not get far there. I am seeing the unexpected reboots in the Event Logs, yet no clues as to why it's crashing. From experience, we know that these unexplained reboots are usually caused by hardware, so let's start there.

Run all three Prime95 tests: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-cpu-stress-test-prime95.html

Also, run Memtest86 overnight: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

For the hard drive, I recommend SeaTools.

Finally, run driver verifier: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

That will test for software issues, causing a BSOD if it finds them. If you get any BSODs, please upload another jcgriff2 report.

Ah! Forget about that - thanks for the heads up.

The kernel dump is in C:\Windows. Look for MEMORY.DMP and zip it up in a .zip or .rar archive file. Then upload it using the paper-clip icon.

Ok here it is UppIT - Free File Sharing - MEMORY.zip

If this helps , every time I run Ad-Aware program it gets about 15 minutes into the scan and gives the blue screen about the bad kernel and closes.

Ad-aware was directly blamed as the probable cause of that BSOD; please remove it completely.

Other things to do:

Remove Symantec according to these removal instructions: Norton Product Support | Installation and Uninstall

Replace it with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Install Service Pack 1: Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Graphics drivers are one thing that are especially prone to causing problems if they have compatibility issues. I see you are using 2006 nVidia drivers, which is a recipe for problems in Windows 7. Install these updated ones: NVIDIA DRIVERS 266.58 WHQL
Code:
nvlddmkm.sys Tue Oct 10 01:44:34 2006 (452B3342)
If that doesn't do the trick for you, turn on Driver Verifier again, and upload a new jcgriff2 report.

For now, you can turn off Driver Verifier.

There is no MiniDump files.
Navigate to C:\Windows and find the MEMORY.DMP file. Upload it on a third-party uploader site (since the file size is huge) - I prefer MediaFire/Uppit. These two uploader sites do not have to wait for unregistered users.

I can't find the dump file this time. I had one before that I uploaded. Is it in a folder? Maybe I needto to run the driver verifier again. I am not getting any blue screen. Just frozen up. I ranthe command sfc/scannow and it didn't find anything. System freezes up often when using Windows Media Center.

Dean - no full dump file exists; see the !_kernel_dump_list.txt file.

I see the last crash that was recorded was not a true BSOD, but rather a Kernel Power 41 event:
Code:
Event[97]:
  Log Name: System
  Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power
  Date: 2011-03-13T10:17:27.859

  Description:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
I suspect we are looking at a hardware issue here, but first, I notice the BIOS is 5 years old:
Code:
BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG, 8/11/2005
I couldn't find the BIOS for your board, what is the model of your computer? If you can find an updated BIOS, please flash it.

Onto the hardware tests...

What is the make/model of your PSU?

Run the three Prime95 tests: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-cpu-stress-test-prime95.html

Run Memtest86: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

Seems Lavasoft's Ad-Aware is causing the issue. I had no crashes/freezes tonight. Then I reinstalled Ad-Aware and turned on the driver verifier. Crash. I wish I could still use it but its conflicting with something on my system.

I removed it and it was running fine. Then after I reinstalled it, the system crashed shortly after. But I would like to know why its causing the conflict because I like the program. Removing programs until the computer runs is not the solution I am after.
