I'm using a Dell Inspiron Mini 1011, with Windows 7. I have connected an additional monitor, which is working perfectly fine.

What I need to do is to display one window on the notebook screen, and another window on the monitor.

I have accessed the control panel, display settings, to the part where most guides tell you to go. However the only option I get is the "1|2 multiple monitors"

Could someone please help me, thanks.

windows key + P will show you the setup options... You'll need to "extend" the view to the external monitor then situate your window on that monitor

It doesnt give the option, only 'disconnect projector, duplicate, or projector only!

If you're unable to "extend", you might try updating the video card driver. If the option doesn't exist to "extend" it's not supported on your current driver/system setup

After further investigation: Windows 7 "Starter" doesn't support that functionality.

You'll have to upgrade your OS and not your driver :(

You already have an answer to the thread, but to answer this question, you would go to Intel's site and simply download the newest driver for your video chipset that pertains to Operating System. Intel's site makes this very easy.
