Music folder takes forever...

Every time I open my Music folder it takes forever for it to sort all of the songs. Is there a way to speed this up? I am constantly using this folder and every time I open it up it takes 1min+ for it to sort all the songs. There's got to be a way for Win7 to memorize the file list.

What do you actually mean by "sort the songs"?

When the folder is opened the files are displayed than get sorted by filename and than by artist (ie at the top of the list are songs by artist A, then B, etc). I'm pretty sure the part that takes the longest is for explorer to load up and display all the mp3s and their ID3 tags.

If you customize a folder to 'music' setting, on viewing, it will check every single mp3/etc for artist+album data, then list that data in the two columns next to file name. If you have a big folder of music, that can cause a delay.

@JonPM: I have my 'explorer' process set to 'high' priority, it helps some.
