Good day all!

All my MP3's are saved in " My Music " folder and all have been correctly tagged. In WMP the files all show up correctly (ie Artists, album, cover art etc.)

When I go to Music in WMC all the music appears, however, some of it is missing cover art and some of the albums are "split", ie one album appears 2 or 3 times with 1 or 2 of the songs in each "copy" of the album.

Any help in sorting out my music would be much appreciated.

"Album" and "Artist" names must be exactly the same or they will show as different entries in WMC.

Apololgies for sounding stupid, but how can that be right?

As an example let's take the Pink Floyd album "Dark side of the Moon"

The Album is : Dark side of the Moon,
the artist is : Pink Floyd.

I may well be misunderstanding you, could you possibly elaborate?

Many thanks for the quick response:)

What he meant to say is that the "Artist" tag has to be the same throughout all the songs on the album... Likewise, the Album tag must be exactly the same for all the songs...

I would do complete check of the tags. Don't worry it's easier than it sounds. I used mediamonkey (free) for this task. Just make sure to follow a couple of simple rules.
- normally Artist and Albumartist are the same
- if you have a sampler with various artists make sure to tag this in Albumartist.
So all songs have Albumartist tag=various artists and Artist has the "real" artist.
Keeping these rules in mind AND make sure that you tag it correctly and you will have no issues any more
let me know if it works

I noticed when I first set my WMC on Win7 that if you have songs of multiple file types in the one album e.g. half *.mp3 and the other half *.wm . By default it will split the album's. I'm pretty sure that I right clicked and changed it so that it ignored the file types and grouped by album.

That sorted my problems out for me.:)
