Music Players

I like AIMP2 for music (has some awesome skins, although I prefer the default) and MPC-HC plus Sharks Win7 codecs for video. (All free.)

Recommend giving AIMP2 a try to see whether you might find it suitable for your music player needs.

Mm, thanks, but I think I'm happy with what I have. I'll still check the site out though.

I chose FOOBAR 2000 solely for the audio conversion. Not just straight audio files, ie. mp3 to wma, or to ogg.

But with video files, if I demux them, I can decode DTS 5.1 and convert to AAC 5.1
or I can convert to WAV then run it thru WAVtoAC3 encoder, and end up with
5.1 AC3 audio.

Skinning FOOBAR is tricky I find, but can make some fascinating looking players if you are willing to put the time into learning how.
As well, there are MANY, MANY plug-ins for it.

Other than that, I might be interested in XION.

josh, other than dressing your music player, dont you think that what the player can offer is the one deciding factor that really counts?

mate, have your tried the Winamp 5 + Enhancer 017 (as its DSP/Effects Plugin)? i suggest you give it a try if still you haven't. these tandem can fully maximize your music listening experience with adjustable EQ and/or presets to satisfy your desire...
