I got a new laptop and I have lots of programs available to play music through. I want to make lot of playlists but I feel I need to pick one program since different programs do not share info.

What do you all suggest I use? There are lots of options including:
Windows Media Player, iTunes, HP Media Smart, Winamp etc.

I am leaning towards Windows Media Player

Just this side of fast enough.
I'd suggest Foobar2000 - even though it doesnt look shiny and with all the graphics other players have - but it does play pretty much everything, supports many types of playlists and you can always check their website for interesting plugins to add to. Winamp is great for mp3s and oggs, WMP has become way too hard to figure out, at least on my end, so, when it comes to music, my savior is always Foobar.

Windows media player makes playlists very nice. But many people says that the shuffle option (if you want ot on it) is much better in Winamp. As I am not a Winamp fanatic, never checked the essence of their speech. WMP12 is just ok for my playlists.
