Hi I'm running windows 7 ultimate (x64) and well my music is really choppy at random times...and I know its not a ram issue as I have 2gb and 600mb or more is always free and my CPU is a intel celeron D 3.46 GHz with the usage at about 50% while playing music...and my music is fine because I can stream it from my Xbox fine

Hi crazymonkey05,

Please share the 'audio playback application' in use when the music gets choppy; does that happen with 'Windows Media Player/Winamp/Youtube/etc'

In the mean while, you may try the following steps:
1. Update/Re-install the 'Audio drivers'
- Click 'Start icon' > Type 'devmgmt.msc' (without quotations) in 'Search Programs and Files' text-box > Tap 'Enter' to open 'Device Manager' > Expand 'Sound, video and game controller' > Right click 'Audio device driver' and 'uninstall' > Restart the computer and install 'Audio drivers' (You may also update Windows; it may pick up the updated drivers automatically)

2. If the issue persists, try to run 'Audio Troubleshooter' to see if that works: Open the Playing Audio troubleshooter

3. If you still experience issues, you may want to refer to the following 'web article': Tips for fixing common sound problems

Hope this helps. Do reply if you have any further questions; would be glad to assist.
