can windows media center play and store mp3 music from amazon or any other download site

A file with an MP3 extension, if encoded properly, should play just fine in WMC or WMP12. That being said, if if it does not, I would carefully review the download source and realize that adding 'goodies' to MP3's is a specialty of malware writers.

not to sound stupid but how do i rip a cd to my comp cant find that option in windows 7

Once the CD is playing in WMP and you are in the playlist view, you will see the Rip CD and Rip settings button in the Ribbon.
