Okay I only have budget for one more game since I blew so much on this new computer.

I want something that will hold me over for awhile.

I'm looking at battlefield 3, but I have a severe dislike of origin and I'm already running steam as it is. ...convince me it's worth it.

I'm also looking at the new modern warfare, but I've been told the multiplayer for it is a bit of a let down... so looking for other opinions there.

As you can see by my system specs I can handle anything on the market I'm just looking to make the best choice since I'm limited this time around.

anyhow if you think it should be one of those two give me a heads up or just add another one I may have missed.

...pretty much anything goes, I generally prefer fps (third person shooters are okay too I liked dead space and dark sector), or racer type games mostly. I have a few rpg's I've liked. Generally stay away from rts games though.

Anyhow I know how people love to plug their games so I'm hoping I'll get a few hits here. My friends that own said games are pretty much a split decision.

Um, neither Battlefield 3 nor MW3 will "hold you for a while", more like 4-5 hours SP. And if you already have one of the previous releases, I don't really see a point in buying new ones just for the MP. idk, seems like a waste of money to me.

Why not try something new? Have you played, for example, Saints Row the Third. Great TPS with small RPG elements (upgrading weapons, abilities, health, damage resistance etc.), it's hilarious, perverted, and a sandbox too!

Multiplayer is the ONLY reason to buy a modern fps, if you just count on the sp content even the more expansive ones are only 7 hours or so these days.

Battlefield 3 is a great tactical game, the graphics are astonishing but if you want to run across the map and spray everyone with one magazine, that's not going to happen.

Modern Warfare 3 is a decent game, the story mode (for me) was fantastic, it's probably the best story in a game i've ever played. The multiplayer is boring if you've played MW2 before as it's pretty much exactly the same thign with the exception of some new maps and some new weapons.

Like Gornot said, Saints Row 3 has a good story mode and it is insanely fun.

LA Noire is a fun game, it's quite old and you can get it pretty cheap but it has a fairly long and interesting story mode. You get to play as different characters and you get really into it.

Mafia 2 is a 'linear-ish' GTA styled game. However it is quite enjoyable and the PhysX adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. Great storyline.

The DLC (which is part of the deluxe version I presume) is a bit 'meh' though.

Mafia 2 is as good as it gets for a sequel, so if the price is right, knock yourself out :)

I have no opinion of MP because I don't play Online nor I am here to offer anything positive to this thread... I just came in to let you know how much I hate the fact that you have such an awesome rig and I don't. :(

That is all... I will go now! :D

If you are wanting multiplayer then definitely go for BF3. Amazing graphics and fun gameplay. Although I just get owned most of the time (must be my old age :p).

If it is single player/campaign you want, any of the mentioned games above would be good.

I really liked Mafia 2. Solid graphics and gameplay. Story was very good IMO. As mentioned above the DLC was just "ok" (I have all of the DLC because I was wanting more).

Mafia 2 was more amazing than i expected. The story line is great, and even though it's a linear game set in an open world, it still works well. I would suggest it if you're looking at it.

The mass effect series, I could not recommend more. I'm ver picky about RPG's, but mass effect is an absolute good. Just cause 2 is a good LONG game, if you do all the story and side quests, it's also a hell of alot of fun. PAYDAY: The Heist is a highly underrated online co-op fps. Extremely fun.

As well, Team Fortess 2 is free, go download it if you don't have it. I've put 446 hours into it and still love it.

Hopefully I helped, i went through my steam list and posted a few games you may have liked. Sometimes it helps to look at what is popular on steam, and dl demos if you're unsure.
