I'm trying to fix my friends computer and I'm having some issues. There was a nasty virus on it that I managed to get rid of, but now programs won't run unless I first right click and click "Run as Administrator". Shortcuts also won't work (I assume for the same reason.) Does anyone know of a fix for this so we don't have to constantly click "Run as Administrator"?

By the way, there is only one user on the computer and it is an administrator.

Hi drumminskillz, Welcome to 7Forums.
It could be your profile is corrupt. The easiest way I know how to fix it is, change your username, create a new user with your original details, delete all the old account details.

I think George is right... and would like to add that it might be best to use this tutorial to log in as the built in admin to do that in the right order:
1. log in using the tut
2. delete normal account
3. make new account
4. change user to new account (and log out of admin)
