Hello for the first time. Before 10 days I have installed window7 on my HP CQ60 laptop and installed all drivers that my laptop needed, but than I found really stupid problem. It is HP Quick Launch Button. When I install this driver my problem, that is mute button doesn't work, still doesn't work. After hours that I was looking for answer I never found one.

The funny thing about this problem that when I go to folder where HP QLB installed and click on Setup. When Installing finished mute button works, BUT when I turn of my laptop to next time to use my laptop mute button doesn't work. I hope you will help me and you know the answer for my problem

Make sure you have not disabled that program in MSCONFIG this happened to me. It was because I had disabled it at startup.

You disabled it in MSCONFIG then went in and enabled it and restarted and it still does not work?

Make sure you enable it and restart - it should start working. if not I would delete it and re-install it. Maybe that will do it.

Hello Win95 and welcome to the SevenForums.

HP Quick Launch Buttons has known issues in Win7. I don't know HP Compaq series laptops, my experience with HP Pavilion and HDX series is that the quick launch buttons work better when QLB application is not installed. Funny but true.

Hello, I was also having this problem with my HP dv41120us and found a solution that works!

The mute icon on my keyboard keeps on making a sound whenever it turns to orange color. Also most of the time, my laptop just freezes and I'm thinking might be something related to my sound device. Most of the suggestion here says you have to reinstall your sound driver. They are correct but you need to install the correct driver else they won't work.

The driver I used is sp41693.exe which can be download from HP (just google it I'm sure you'll find where to download it). Hope that helps. Good luck! :geek:
