my adapter card is on but not responding when making a hotspot.

hey hey ,

so i was trying to turn my acer aspire 5732z ito a wifi hotspot. my laptop is connected to the internet via a LAN cable. my laptop does have a wifi adapter (atheros AR5B93 Wireless network adapter) and i read that it is supposed to be able to emmit wifi, but is does not.

can anyone help me in this matter i am hopeless, i just want wifi :cry:

You would need to make sure that the driver for this connection is a Windows certified WHQL driver, this will ensure that it installs the Msoft virtual WiFi miniport which is what Windows uses to set up the hosted wireless network.

When you install the correct driver you will see the Msoft virtual driver there in Device Manager.
