So when I upgraded from Vista to 7 Home Premium (32 bit), I went in and disabled all of the new Aero features (Snap, Shake, Peek, etc). That was over a year ago. How do I re-enable these? I've read tutorials, went into Ease of Access and changed the mouse/visual settings, changed Registry settings, etc, but they simply won't re-enable.

Maybe you can try this:
1. Open System Properties, click Advanced system settings, under Performance section click Settings.
2. On the Visual Effects tab, select Let windows choose what's best for my computer, click > OK > OK.
3. Right-click on desktop, select Personalize. Under Aero Themes, select theme "Windows 7", and then see if your PC can display Aero effects again :).

If you've changed registry settings, you might want to see if this helps,

Aero itself works, it's the tiny features that no longer work, like Snap. I tried the "let Windows decide" thing, and it didn't work.

I've been through control panel and followed the tutorial, in to registry etc, and I cannot get Aero Snap to work.
I posted about it on a recent thread ie a couple of days ago but got no replies.
This had been a problem since the beginning. I had a thread on it about a year ago but it died on the vine.
I can live without this feature but it's annoyiing not knowing why it doesn't work:(

Tried all of those fixes, none of them worked. I didn't care about having them, but I've played around with Aero features on my other PC, and now I'd like at least Snap to be enabled.

Thanks. At least Windows Key + Arrow lets Snap work. If you find a less drastic fix than the repair install, let me know.

That's how I use it too.

I am curious to know if a repair install will fix it, but that is up to you.

If anything new is found, it will be posted.

And, for the record, the sfc /scannow thing ended up telling me I had a whole list of problems (I think 77).

That's another good reason to do a repair install, that's quite a few. ;)

I'm not sure why this got marked solved.

Wasn't aware of that keyboard shortcut and, yes, it works for me too:)
I tried a repair install 12 months ago and it made no difference.

Yeah, sorry I kind of left that thread hanging and it was not as long ago as I'd thought. Heads going.
Anyway, turns out that whilst my snap still doesn't work my shake and the keyboard shortcut snap do.
From reading that previous thread it seems they didn't then so the repair install did do something.
It's weird though.
