ok guys...sorry for being a newb. I've tried to fix this on my own and usually i can find all that I'm looking for online but this one is just too much. I let my band mates have free reign over my pro-tools and I'm not sure what the hell they did, but I tried to do a full reformat...and I'm having some major issues.
I'm not extremely savy in this department, but I'm not clueless either.
Basically this is where I'm at. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html
Maybe I'm not doing the right parts or creating the right partitions or something, but I'm now looking at the install screen. it says I have Disk 0 Unallocated space 200Mb, Disk 0 partition 1 111.6Gb Primary, Disk 1 Partition 1 465GB Logical. But nowhere on these drives will it let me install windows. when i try and install onto the Disk 0 Partition 1 (or anywhere else for that matter) it says windows cannot be installed. when i click "show details" it says "windows cannot be installed to this disk. the selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks."
And so now I have to admit defeat and ask for help:) This is my bands computer and we are hard at work on a record, so any help will be greatly appreciated!:) Thank you in advance!:)

Try changing your dvd drive that you are installing windows with from uefi to sata. You can do this in the bios or by hitting f11 or whatever your motherboard uses to choose the boot option.

Angelflesh First thing i can tell you is MBR Master Boot Record will remain on that space the 111.0GB is the place to install Windows

200mb of space will not allow a installation of Win 7 Because Win 7 needs 20GB of space to install you are trying to do it on a partition of 200MB

Best solution is to Delete MBR and reformat and restart the install process if you don't want to it must be reinstalled to the other Partition

Now i know you might of not thought of this but why didn't you try System restore first instead of redoing the OS that would of corrected your issue before going to a fresh install again

If disk 0 is an SDD where you want to install, clean it and define a primary active aligned partition on it. Then install into that. Here are the commands:

Diskpart
List disk

Select disk n (where n is the number that was given for your SSD in List disk)
Clean
Create partition primary align=1024
Format fs=ntfs quick
Active
Exit
